The Gold Standard in Sks Accessories

The Samozaryadny Karabin sistemy Simonova, 1945 (or, SKS, for short) is a Soviet semi-automatic carbine rifle. “Semi-automatic” means that the SKS is auto-loading. It uses high-pressure gas left over from cartridge fire to eject the casing, and load a new round into the chamber. A spring-loaded bolt carrier is pushed rearward by the firearm’s discharge, lifting the bolt, which allows the spent casing to be ejected by the extractor. Then, the spring propels the bolt forward again, reloading the weapon.

A “Carbine rifle” is a firearm that replicates the design of other long gun firearms, such as rifles or muskets, but tweaks it, providing the gun a shorter barrel. These smaller, light-weight firearms are easier to handle than your traditional rifle. They are typically issued to high-mobility troops, such as paratroopers, to offset the weight of other issued equipment, allowing for a highly agile fighting force.

Designed in 1943 by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov, the SKS has a conventional rifle layout, with wooden stock and classic rifle grip. Manufactured between 1945 and 1958, just over 2.7 million carbines were made. In the early 1950s, the Soviets took the SKS out of service, and replaced it with the AK-47. The SKS is still used today as a ceremonial firearm, and is popular on the civilian market as a hunting rifle in countries such as the US, Canada, and New Zealand. It is relatively inexpensive, and its ammunition, steel-cased 7.62 x 39mm, is also fairly cheap.

At Sarco Inc., we have all the SKS Accessories you will need to take your weapon to the next level. For instance: all military SKS’s came with a bayonet attached to the underside of the barrel. Both blade and spike variants were produced. At Sarco, we sell the spike bayonets used on the 1949 Tula Russian SKS-45, on the Chinese type 56, and on the Albanian Model 561. We also sell a variety of SKS bolts, plates, springs, pins, magazines, latches, handguards—everything you might need to build or repair your SKS.
